Budget Disneyland Vacations
Last modified: November 1, 2010I know the economy is at its worst point in at least the last 30 years, but that still shouldn’t stop you from taking the kids to Disneyland. Going to Disneyland was one of the highlights of my childhood, and I believe that every child should be able to go to Disneyland at least once. But the problem is most people think they can’t afford a trip to Disneyland due to the poor economy. The truth is, a trip to Disneyland can be very affordable once you learn how to Budget Disneyland Vacations.
If you are considering going to Disneyland, you should buy your tickets well in advance. It is not unusual to buy tickets for Disneyland at least 6 months in advance of going there. You will get the tickets at a much lower cost than if you were to purchase them at the ticket window. You will also be protecting yourself and your family from a possible ticket price hike that occurs from time to time.
You should also book a hotel in advance. It doesn’t have to be 6 months in advance, but three months is a good time to find a hotel. The earlier you book a hotel, the better chances you have of being able to find an affordable room because hotels can fill up very quickly during the prime Disneyland summer season. This will save you time and money.
If you are driving, pack plenty of food. Stopping at fast food restaurants and buying soda pop at gas stations can add up to a pretty penny if you don’t watch out how much you spend. By bringing a large cooler full of ice and food, you will be saving a pretty good chunk of change that can be used for other things like gas. You should also change your oil and check all the fluids in your vehicle before partaking of this journey. This will save you money by protecting against a possible expensive car problem along the way. You should also check to see if you have roadside assistance through your insurance company. Most automobile insurance companies offer roadside assistance for fewer than 5 dollars per month.
You should also check with a travel agency to see if they have any budget Disneyland Vacations available. Some travel agencies have deals with amusement parks like Disneyland that allows them to get tickets at a low cost. Don’t accept the first price the travel agent offers you, ask for a discount. You should also double check with the hotels in the area to see that you are getting a fair price.
Once you are at Disneyland, stay occupied and don’t go into the gift shops until the end of the day. This will keep the kids from begging you to purchase more than one item during the trip. It would also be a good idea to take everyone out to breakfast before going though the gates. Less money spent of food is less money spent.
By following this simple advice, you should be able to enjoy budget Disneyland Vacations with the entire family, at anytime during the year.
