Hotels Near Disneyland
Last modified: November 1, 2010Are you planning a trip to Disneyland and having difficulty finding the right hotel? Finding the right hotel near Disneyland doesn’t have to be difficult. You just have to decide on a few things before you start your search.
Proximity
How close to Disneyland do you want to stay? Don’t rely solely on what your kids say. They’ll say that they want to stay in Cinderella’s Castle. In fact, they probably intend to share a room with Mickey Mouse. Instead, first decide on what you intend to do on your vacation. If you plan to do nothing but visit Disneyland during your entire stay, then closer is better. But perhaps you’d also like to see some of the other sights of the Greater Los Angeles area. Maybe you’d like to take in a major sporting event, or maybe you’d like to go over to Hollywood and see the stars on the sidewalk. Does anyone in your family have a medical condition? If so, when looking for hotels near Disneyland you might want to also consider hotels near hospitals.
Amenities
There’s more to do in a hotel besides sleep and shower. By contrast, you could also chose a hotel that offers little else. Are you a food enthusiast? Consider choosing a hotel with a renowned restaurant. Do the kids like to swim? You might want to consider a hotel that takes advantage of all that Southern California sunshine and offers more than a concrete hole filled with water. Does Mom like the spa treatment? Plenty of hotels offer facilities with gyms, massages, and day spas.
Resort vs. budget motel
When you begin planning your trip you need to decide exactly how much of the Disneyland experience you want. When choosing hotels near Disneyland be aware that you have a plethora of choices. You can stay in a resort that is owned and operated by Disneyland or you can stay away from the theme park in a budget motel. The two criteria for making this decision are how much Disneyland do you want and how much are you willing to spend.
Price
For some of us this is the single most important factor when deciding upon a hotel. And if that’s the case, this might be the step you start with. But the dollar figure for the hotel alone isn’t what determines how much you can afford. You have to look at the big picture. You have to look at the price of the entire trip. And here we get into the issue of package deals. On one extreme you can purchase your entire vacation as a single package. That way you don’t have to choose a hotel, an airline, or a rental car, and your admission price to the park might also be included. On the other extreme you can purchase each and every element separately. So when we look for hotels near Disneyland we need to pay careful attention to the various package opportunities. One hotel might cost more than another but offers discounts on park admission tickets or a rental car. The package price might be cheaper than the parts purchased separately. So before you start weighing packages against individual purchases, the best advice is to decide on a budget and stick to it.
Remember, a vacation is supposed to be about relaxation and getting away from our day-to-day lives. Choosing among the hotels near Disneyland doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. With the proper preparation it can be easy.
